As our packages are bespoke to the individual student, the exact curriculum content will differ slightly for each of them. However, we broadly offer a primary and a secondary curriculum, whereby the primary curriculum is mainly topic based, focusing on Maths, English and Learning Skills.
The secondary curriculum is based around Functional Skills and GCSE subjects and sourced accredited courses.
Our teachers are experienced in primary as well as secondary education and will conduct initial assessments, which will then inform the Individual Learning Plan for each student.
We are using a variety of assessment tools, which will show academic as well as social emotional progress and outcomes.
We will always keep you informed and will adapt subjects and topics if this is required to support progress.
Thursday’s Child is a weekly meeting which takes place for all staff. Each week, the team will focus on a child, their background, their needs, their triggers and key information on how to support the child if they are deregulated. The aim of the meeting is to ensure each child has a consistent approach, that they are known by each member of staff, that all staff can support if required and the child is understood by all adults who they may encounter in school. The meeting allows for questions to be asked and for the team to build a comprehensive understanding of how therapeutic approaches need to be adapted to each child.
