Working with our families

Due to the nature of trauma and SEN that our children and young people have, close working relationships with families is crucial to the emotional and educational development of our children. Staff at school will always look for ways to positively engage with a child’s family.

  • Initial meeting with the headteacher
  • Parent and Carer Connection - Mark Brown available at the school entrance or via phone daily from 09:30 – 10:10 or bookable outside of these times. This is to discuss any worries or concerns that you may have which affect your child.
  • Contact as frequently as daily with your child’s class teacher by email, drop off/collection times or phone.
  • Daily Earwig updates of your child’s work with photographs.
  • 3 Designated IEP days per year to discuss IEP and progress.
  • Half termly newsletter to review the progress of the school over the previous six weeks.
  • Monthly Online Safety newsletter to support families use of technology out of school
  • Termly parent surveys where your views can be shared
  • Annual Reviews with the SENCO (Georgina Spoor) and your child’s class teacher
  • Annual reports communicated home yearly.
  • Therapeutic reports sent home yearly.
  • 6 week therapy blocks for parents and carers in crisis with our therapists.
  • PACE training for parents and carers
