School Dress Code

Educate U chooses not to have a set school uniform and our children and young people are free to wear their own choice of clothes set out within the guidance below:

Dress code guidance

  • Clothing that allows for ease of movement and physical comfort throughout the day.
  • Clothing choices practical for school activities, including outdoor play, physical education classes, and art projects.
  • Closed-toe shoes with appropriate support to ensure safety during physical activities and in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Clothing should not be restrictive or made with uncomfortable materials, such as tight-fitting items or garments with rough textures.
  • Sensory sensitivities should be considered. Students may choose to wear clothing that minimises sensory distractions, such as avoiding clothing with tags or opting for seamless options.
  • Discriminatory or offensive language, symbols, or imagery on clothing are strictly prohibited.
  • Clothing that may marginalise or negatively impact others based on gender, race, religion, disability, or any other characteristic is not allowed.
  • Clothing that is excessively revealing, such as crop tops, short shorts, or clothing with explicit or inappropriate imagery, is not allowed.
  • Jewellery will need to be removed for physical exercise activities in the interests of safety.

If a pupil requires specific accommodations due to sensory sensitivities or other trauma-related concerns, parents and carers are encouraged to communicate with the school office or their child’s class teacher to develop individualised solutions.
