What does a Parent and Carer Connection (PCC) do?

A Parent Carer Connection plays a vital role in facilitating effective communication and support between parents/carers and the school or educational institution. A PCC’s primary responsibility is to act as a liaison between the school and parents/carers, ensuring that information flows smoothly in both directions.

Strengthens Communication:

PCCs serve as a point of contact for parents/carers who may have questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding their child's education. They ensure that parents and carers are informed about school policies, procedures, events, and initiatives.

Provides Support:

PCCs offer guidance and support to parents/carers in navigating the education system and accessing resources or services available to support their child's learning and well-being. Mark Brown is also the Educate U’s senior mental health lead and can support both children and young people and their families with mental health support and signposting.

Advocates:

PCCs advocate for the needs and interests of parents and carers within the school environment, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed. They collaborate with school staff and admin team to develop solutions and implement changes that benefit both our children and young people and their families.

Overall, the role of a Parent Carer Connection is integral to establishing and maintaining strong partnerships between parents and carers and the school, ultimately contributing to the academic achievement and overall development of pupils.
