Home to School Transport
Home to School Transport is provided to some children when the council has a duty to provide home to school transport generally and for some children and young people with special educational needs.
We currently have Home to School Transport in place for several children from Brighton and Hove council and West Sussex County Council.
At the start of the school day staff teams meet the vehicles in a local designated spot and escort their children and young people from that drop off point, directly into the school building. At the end of the school day staff teams escort their children and young people back to their home transport vehicles directly from the school building. This ensures that our children and young people are never unsupervised.
Some parents and carers live within the boundaries to not need access to home transport and so are able to drop their children off at school.
We do not allow children to walk home unsupervised, or travel home unsupervised, without express prior discussion with families and consent agreed to from all parties.
