EHCP Annual Reviews
An Annual Review is a statutory requirement to review the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to ensure a child or young person is making progress and receiving provision toward meeting their outcomes.
The Annual Review takes place as a meeting. Educate U will then submit paperwork within two weeks of the meeting.
Before the annual review meeting
Educate U will:
· arrange a meeting with the child’s parents or carers and all relevant professionals
· ensure the pupil can attend and be a part of his or her review
· ask you to complete a parental views form
· collate the child or young person's views in the most appropriate way
· make the collated paperwork available to everyone attending the review at least two weeks before the meeting.
· SENAT representative may attend in the event of a transition, a challenge or a concern for the pupil.
After the meeting
Within two weeks of the annual review meeting, Educate U will:
· complete all the paperwork with details of the meeting discussion and the agreed actions
· send this to everyone who attended the meeting and SENAT.
SENAT will decide whether to maintain or amend the EHCP within four weeks of the meeting.
EHCPs are not amended following every review. There must be significant changes to the child or young person's outcomes, needs or provision for changes to be made.
